Must.. resist.. wikipedia…

I was browsing a friends website when I noticed an odd phrase in one of his blog posts. He said that the popular "social bookmarking" site digg.com had "Jumped the shark". I was puzzled by this phrase. It sounded like the kind of management speak or phrase that would win points in game of bullshit bingo. Wikipedia to the rescue though with a page all about the phrase Jumped the shark. That's all well and good, now I know the meaning of the phrase, and realise it's not salesman doubletalk I may even use it myself.

Yummy chilli chicken curry

I went out for beer and curry with my good friends Graham, Tom and Andy. The night started off in The Crown Tavern where a few glasses of Star were consumed whilst we all mulled over what it's like to be a techy at the bottom of the pile in the corporations of today. We recounted stories of the usual lack of planning, underinvestment in administrative resources and a lack of appreciation of technological limitations of IT infrastructure. All that over a few pints, it was great to vent a little.
