Some time ago I blogged about Zattoo – an application for watching TV. They removed their Linux client for some reason, but now it’s back.
Not sure there’s much of a place for fat clients now we have things like SeeSaw, 4oD and BBC iPlayer, but choice is usually a good thing

Are those guys serious? This is basically the website with streamed *flash* content (including ads!) in a Qt webkit window. No thanks..
Sorry, a bit trollish but tvcatchup.com > Zattoo.
I keep forgetting about tvcatchup to be honest. I have been testing seesaw and that seems to work okay, but obviously thats not for live TV.
Isn’t really a good app. (as the last version of it was)
Its simply a browser widget linking directly to the site more or less.
Still uses shitty flash
http://watch.zattoo.com has worked on Linux all the time that there has been no client, although they don’t seem to advertise it all that much.
So every time I go there it says it’s not available in my country… not sure how you got a login?!
I have had a logon for some time now.
Zattoo is now part of the “Tagesanzeiger” iPhone app available in the Swiss Apple Appstore. Or directly on the iPhone under http://zattoo.com
There is a new version (4.0.4) of the Zattoo player available. It has a “Lights Out” mode which makes everything but the TV stream itself and the channel list to the left of it disappear. And if you are a paying user (e.g., if you have subscribed to Zattoo HIQ), it makes also the channel list disappear, so that only the TV stream remains visible.
