Thesedays, when I need to provide a document, I send the OpenDocument format. If I get a complaint, I suggest that the recipient use software that is standards compliant and only then send the converted document.
I'm also surprised that generally people will have Openoffice and will accept my OpenDocument format.
I'm starting to slowly convince my customers that we develop for standard browsers and not have "workarounds" for non-compliant browsers (read Internet-you-know-what). I generally get my customers to test using Firefox, stating how they'd rather not test on IE. Some of them then start using it as there default browser.
