Its a laptop XPS Gen2 Inspirion with the shiny aluminium top - I was able to take it to Europe for 3 weeks and at least use it for downloading digital photos. You just need to get the machine to look for the onboard video card. Other functions would noy work but nothing major. Email me if I can add more barrypendergast@shaw.ca
