Network Manager in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (Dapper)

I tried using Network Manager (the natty utility to help you manage a machine that may visit multiple networks) on Ubuntu 5.10 but it all went horribly wrong, so I left it alone until now. At the recent HantsLUG meeting where Martin mentioned how great Network Manager was under Dapper.

So I tried to install it as per the instructions on the Ubuntu wiki but it didn't quite go as planned. It looks like the nm-applet Gnome panel applet isn't in the network-manager package. Instead it's in network-manager-gnome. Didn't take long for me to figure out, but I guess it could stump a few newbies. It is a recommended package when you install network-manager but I suspect a few people will miss that (as I did).
